Description:

This article discusses various methods of diagnosis of mycobacterial infections. Rapid detection of mycobacterical infection is crucial due to the increased emergence of tuberculosis, appearance of multi-drug resistant strains of M. tuberculosis, and high incidence of Mycobacterium avium complex disease in long-term AIDS patients.
