this course you will learn that molecular testing is revolutionizing the
clinical practice of infectious disease.
It is very significant to acute care settings where timely and accurate
diagnosis tools are critical for patient treatment decisions and outcomes. In this course the general principles,
diagnostic value, and limitations of the most current molecular testing
platforms will be discussed.

- Discuss the advantages of molecular testing for diagnosing infectious diseases.
- Outline
basic molecular testing concepts, such as nucleic acid-based molecular assays
and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).
