Description:
This session will highlight the EKG starting with a little history and moving on to discuss modern EKG methods. We will review circulation, cardio electric impulses, and their waves, discuss the EKG procedure, the rhythm strip, readings, and most importantly - patient interaction. This will be a hands-on class.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the electrical current of the heart as it is depicted on the rhythm strip.
- Describe what a good rhythm strip looks like and why it is important.
- Explain the most important part of the EKG: the patient lying below the leads and their stake in the game!
