Description:

In this course, you will learn new methods in the clinical microbiology laboratory and how will they be applied to the laboratory of the future.  The theory and application of a host of new technologies are discussed along with the application and the strengths and weaknesses of the methods.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe a brief history of clinical microbiology technological advancements.
  • Outline newly introduced methods and technologies for the clinical microbiology laboratory, including PNA FISH tests, Nanosphere Technology, and more.
  • Discuss considerations for implementing new technology in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
