Description:
This
program discusses the Laboratory System Response to the first US case of
MERS. The public health laboratory system
is designed to protect the public against serious infectious threats. The Indiana Public Health Laboratory System
was created through the efforts of many individuals and worked effectively to
minimize the threat of MERS infection in the state of Indiana and country.

the history and epidemiology of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus.
- Outline
the laboratory and hospital implications from a real-world case study of the
first suspected MERS case in the United States.
- Define
commonly used specimens and tests used to diagnose MERS in patients.
