In
this course, principles of platelet therapy in hematology-oncology patients
will be reviewed. Hematology-oncology
patients are the one of the most heavily transfused patient populations and due
to immunosuppression, these patients require specialized blood components. The types and rationale for use of
specialized blood products is discussed in the presentation.
