2021AM: Opioid Overdose Crisis and Naloxone Training (CE: 1.5)


Description:

In this two-part series, the first session defines opioids, risk factors of an opioid overdose, and harm reduction. The addicted brain and trauma, as well as reducing addict stigma is also discussed. The second session focuses on recognizing an opioid overdose, how and when to administer Naloxone, and compassion fatigue, burnout and self-care. 


Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of an individual using Opiates. 
  • Explain the working relationship of Narcan to Opioids and overdoses. 
  • Recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. 
  • Administer Naloxone.
