This
course covers antibiotics and susceptibility testing. In an era when many
patients have come to expect an antibiotic prescription to knock out their
often-unpleasant bacterial infections, some non-susceptible organisms demand
vigilant microbiology attention. Susceptibility testing is a challenging
procedure performed in clinical microbiology, and health care providers need to
understand the testing and the basics of antibiotics.
