The human papillomavirus (HPV) family consists of more than 200
subtypes, nine of which are the causative agents for more than 85% of all
cervical, vulvar, anal, vaginal, penile, and oropharyngeal HPV-related
carcinomas. Virtually every human being will be exposed to HPV at some point in
their lives, and most go on to clear the infection with no consequence. This
