The objective of this article is to evaluate global health
demographic surveillance systems that can be used to track and monitor sickle
cell disease (SCD). A specific focus is placed on the different types of
management information systems that have the capability of systematically
collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. Lastly, the purpose is to
identify and explore various frameworks for organizing information necessary
for healthy communities.
