Description:
Point-of-care testing (POCT) has become an important part of
patient care at many health care facilities. Some institutions, however, simply
maintain a POCT program and do not develop it to its fullest potential. This
article discusses ways to integrate POCT into a healthcare system and ways to
improve a POCT program to positively impact an institution.
