Description:

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), a contagious and sometimes fatal respiratory disease, first made its appearance in the world in Southeastern China in November 2002. In just a matter of a few months, an Italian epidemiologist at the World Health Organization in Vietnam discovered that it was rapidly spreading worldwide. This article discusses SARS in detail, including signs, symptoms, and treatment of SARS.
